Cookie Policy
This policy lists every cookie and local storage entry this website can use, what each one is for, who sets it, and whether it needs your consent. It also explains exactly how our consent prompt works, and how to change your mind.

The short version
- Nothing is tracked until you choose. No analytics or advertising cookie is set on this site before you make a consent decision. Not a temporary one, not an anonymous one.
- Your choice is stored in your browser, in local storage under the key
fabex-consent-v1. It is not sent to us and it is not a cookie — it exists so we do not ask you on every page. - You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. That clears the stored choice and brings the prompt back.
- Rejecting is as easy as accepting. "Reject all" sits next to "Accept all" in the prompt, and it is one click.
How the consent mechanism works
We use Google Consent Mode v2, configured so that the default state is denial. The order of operations matters, and this is what actually happens on your first visit:
- The page loads and declares every consent category — analytics, advertising, ad personalisation — as denied. No tag library is loaded at this point, and no cookie may be written.
- We check your browser for a stored decision under
fabex-consent-v1. If one exists, we apply it immediately and load the relevant tags only if you previously allowed them. - If there is no stored decision, the prompt appears and nothing loads. You can accept all, reject all, or open Manage and switch analytics and advertising independently.
- Your choice is written to local storage and applied immediately. The prompt does not reappear on later visits, because the decision is remembered.
A visitor who ignores the prompt is never tracked. That is the intended outcome, not an oversight: it is the only default that satisfies the GDPR and the 2026 Google Ads policy at the same time.
One honest detail: the prompt is only rendered when analytics or advertising IDs are configured for that build. On a build with no IDs configured there is nothing to consent to, the prompt never appears, and no analytics or advertising cookie can be set at all.
Cookie categories
Cookies fall into three groups. Only the first is exempt from consent, and the exemption is narrow: a cookie is strictly necessary only if the service you asked for cannot be provided without it.

The individual cookies you may see
The names below are set by Cloudflare and Google, not by us, so they can change without notice — Google in particular has renamed advertising cookies more than once. The category and the consent requirement, however, do not change.

Analytics and advertising cookies are only ever set after you accept the corresponding category. Strictly necessary cookies are set by Cloudflare as part of serving and protecting the site; they contain no advertising identifier and are not used to build a profile of you.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
Consent that cannot be withdrawn is not consent, so this is deliberately easy:
- Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. It appears on every page. Clicking it deletes the stored decision (fabex-consent-v1) and reopens the consent prompt, where you can accept, reject, or set analytics and advertising separately.
- Or clear storage yourself. Removing this site's cookies and local storage in your browser settings has the same effect: the next visit starts with no decision stored, so nothing loads until you choose again.
- Withdrawal is not retrospective. Data collected while you had consented stays in our analytics until its retention period ends — currently 14 months in Google Analytics 4 — unless you ask us to delete it, which you can do at any time under the rights described in our Privacy Policy.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies site by site. The settings live under a different heading in each one:
- Chrome — Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies.
- Safari — Settings (or Preferences), then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
- Firefox — Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge — Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Blocking cookies entirely will not break the quote form or the file upload, because this site is server-rendered and does not depend on a cookie to function. It will prevent analytics and advertising measurement, which is the same outcome as rejecting the relevant category.
To limit advertising measurement across all sites rather than just this one, Google's own Ads Settings page and the industry opt-out schemes at youronlinechoices.eu (EU/UK) and optout.aboutads.info (US) cover most of the advertising ecosystem. Google also publishes a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We do not currently read browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. We are stating that plainly rather than claiming compliance we do not implement. In practice the effect is stricter than those signals require: because nothing loads until you actively opt in, a visitor who would send such a signal is already untracked on this site.
